History

B&B Tractors is a family owned and managed business that was first established in 1991 and now has four depots covering Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire. We provide sales, service and parts support for AGCO derived products, namely the world renowned Massey Ferguson, Fendt and Valtra brands, priding ourselves in delivering the highest level of customer care available to our agricultural, municipal and industrial customers. Other brands offered by the business include industry leading names such as Vaderstad, Manitou, Grimme, Trimble, Kuhn, Isuzu and Honda.

The business began in 1991 when Massey Ferguson approached Bowring Transport owners Chris & David Bowring about taking on the franchise at our premises in Warsop to cover the Nottinghamshire area, and also to cover some area in North Derbyshire. Chris & David were excited about the opportunities this presented and accepted the offer, quickly sourcing a depot in Tideswell from which to cover the North Derbyshire area.

In 2007 a further AGCO territory covering more of Derbyshire became available and B&B Tractors jumped at the opportunity to acquire this prestigious area. A purpose built depot was constructed at Fauld, nr Tutbury, to cover this area, and this brand new depot was opened in 2008. AGCO approached B&B Tractors in 2010 to take on the Massey Ferguson franchise in an area covering South & West Yorkshire. The Bowring family already had an existing truck parts business based in Dodworth which was ideally located to cover this area, therefore the decision was made to expand the existing depot at Dodworth and run the AGCO business from there.

With the additions of the new depots between 2007 and 2011 and the ever increasing sales of machinery, David introduced his son James Bowring into the company, firstly taking over the management of the Fauld depot to develop sales and increase focus on aftersales. Then in 2013, James moved to the dealer principal position to oversee all of our depots, working with a restructured management team to focus on our core values of 'first in every field' for sales and aftersales support.

With the new management team established, B&B Tractors took on the Valtra brand in 2018 to operate from our depots in Warsop and Tideswell. The addition of the Valtra brand came about with us being impressed with the quality and performance of the brand, and with the territory available we were confident we could duplicate the success already achieved with the Massey Ferguson and Fendt brands.

AGCO were very impressed with our performance and enthusiasm for the brand and subsequently we were offered additional territory covering our Fauld depot and west to the M6. We were delighted to be given the opportunity to take on this increased area, meaning we now cover all of Staffordshire for Valtra branded products.

All of our depots are now fully stocked with Valtra parts and our technicians have been trained on the Valtra product, meaning we are fully equipped to support the Valtra brand from all of our depots moving forward. The addition of the Valtra brand means that B&B Tractors now offer the full range of AGCO products to further strengthen our position as the leading supplier of Agricultural Machinery in the East Midlands.

As employee numbers continued to grow, our Head Office at Warsop was given an overhaul in 2017/18. The old office block was completely knocked down and a new double storey office built in its place, along with tarmac being laid across the site to improve parking facilities and develop an improved area to display tractors and machinery. The disused Grade 2 listed windmill was also transformed into an office and lounge area, under the watchful eye of English Heritage to ensure it retained its original features.

Our Head Office site (which also incorporates the Bowring Transport Haulage yard, offices and workshop and IFT Services offices and workshop) has now grown to 30 acres and has over 150 employees based there.
