  • What is a Thorough Examination?
  • Thorough examination is an annual inspection covering telehandlers, forklifts and front loaders and lifting equipment, in accordance with legal requirements of LOLER/PUWER 1998 legislation. To adhere to these regulations, you are required, by law to ensure that your machines must undergo regular examinations by a qualified technician to ensure that it is fit for purpose.


  • ABOUT LOLER & PUWER TESTS
  • The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) is a health and safety regulation specific to lifting equipment. LOLER tests lifting equipment and accessories to make sure they are in good condition, properly maintained and safe to use.


  • The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) is a health and safety regulation aimed at ensuring work equipment is safe for use. PUWER requires examination of all operational parts of the machine, which includes the brakes, tyres, steering and more


  • To ensure legal compliance and operational safety, permanently fitted lifting attachments must be included in the Thorough Examination and inspected at least once every 12 months. Removable attachments, however, are legally required to be examined a minimum of twice a year.
